Sanskrit Shlok Recitation Competition

Sanskrit became the '  lingua franca ' for the students of classes 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th of Udgam School For Children when they celebrated Sanskrit Divas on 1st September with great gusto and fervor. 

The highlight of the day was the Shloka Competition held in two categories between the students of classes 6th , 7th and 8th ,  9th. The entire auditorium reverberated with the flawless chanting of shlokas from the scriptures like Vishnusahasranam, Bhagwad Gita, Ganesh Pancharatan to name only a few. The audience was left spellbound by the marvelous rendition of our students. Some students also narrated moralistic stories in Sanskrit much to the delight of the others.

The programme was presided over by Mr. B.K Yagnik an eminent scholar in Sanskrit and English. A Sahitya Acharya in Sanskrit and a post graduate in English Literature, he has 34 years of extensive teaching experience in both the languages. He not only judged the show but also addressed the students in chaste Sanskrit. The programme culminated with the announcement of the winners in both the categories. 

Vidhi Hitesh Ruparel of VII H, Krisha Rakesh Shastri of VI F and Ramya Rammohan of VII G were adjudged first, second and third in the first category whereas the top three positions were bagged by Harshal Oza of IXG, Satya Aditya Chittavarjula of IX G and Chaitanya Vinay Patel of VIII F in the second category. The programme culminated amidst great applause and cheering.
