Talk by Sense International India

Mr. Samir Dhale and his colleagues from Sense International India, interacted with students of class 8 and 9 to sensitize them towards people with deaf, blind and multisensory impairment. The deaf dumb and blind man communicated with students with the help of gestures which were interpretated by another person. They taught children little bit of sign language.
Children were also given personalised desk calendar to students from them.

Visit to TOI Press

Udgam children visited TOI press, Vejalpur.

The students of class 9 were taken for a visit at TOI press to experience how a newspaper is made. There they got an opportunity to
interact with Deputy Manager Mr. Tushar Bakhda who could enchant all the children with the technicalities of newspaper printing.

Hats Off to Shriraj Gandhi

Hats off to a young mind of Udgam who exhibited his creativity and flare towards science and technology.

Shriraj Gandhi of class 7 designed a plane as a part of project under the training of Nisarg Gandhi at the Vikram Sarabhai Community Science Centre. He crafted the areoplane taking care of all the minute technical details.

Udgam Celebrates Kite Flying Day

Kids just love kites and although some won't admit to it right away, so do most adults!
Hopefully we all still have a little kid inside, and one of the best ways we can find ours is to spend some time flying kites with a young one.

Udgam pre-primary children celebrated kite flying with full zest.Parents of all the children were invited to fly kites with their ward.
The school also distributed eco-friendly kites among the children. It was a breath taking colour fiesta with multicolour kites flying high in sky and children yelling and shouting with glee…

Winner of Painting Competition

Udgam feels proud of Yash Patel of class 8.
He has won Bronze medal in 2008 and Silver medal in 2009 for participating in painting competition by Kala Sarthi Art Foundation, India. The topics were 'Save girl child' and 'Swine flu'.

Cultural Programme

On eve of the Republic Day Udgam primary section celebrated a gala cultural programme. The programme was divided into two parts- 1st part was held on Saturday 23/1/10 and 2nd part was held on 25/1/10. All the children participated enthusiastically in each event. They exhibited their creativity in dramatics, group songs, oratory,group dance and classical dance.The school bore a festive look on the occassion and an air of patriotism prevailed in the atmosphere.

Picnic – 2010

This year the school has organized one-day picnics at Snesh Water Park at Kheda.  All the classes from Nursery to class 9 will be going there.  Students enjoyed rides on camel, horse, camel cart and horse-carriage and boating.  Later they played volley-ball, football and other games.  A magic show and mimicry show have also been arranged for them.

Sports Day – Primary

Classes 1 to 5 celebrated 30th January 2010, as their Sports Day.

The morning began with the aasans of yoga by the students of Std 3, 4 and 5. Then began the relay- races of all the classes in which everyone participated with excitement. The children also enthusiastically took part in all races, showing the right sportsman spirit. The children then ended with different games like hopping, kho-kho, doge ball; throw ball and many more, which the students thoroughly enjoyed.

Salad Making Compition

A salad making competition was organised at Udgam on Friday 8/1/10.

Students of class 9 exhibited their art of making dining table more tempting by adding taste and nutritious value of food by taking part in competition.The competition was to inculcate healthy food habits and awareness regarding the choice of food among youth. Cleanliness,taste, and presentation were the basic criterion for the judgement. The participants creativity was revealed through the beautiful designs and patterns formed with different mouth watering salads.

Udgam became a part of round table conference

Udgam became a part of round table conference organised by DNA at Divya Bhaskar office on the eve of new year.The aim of the conference was to dedicate 2010 to 'Our Children, Our Future'.
Shriraj Gandhi and Aashka Shah of class VII participated with children from other schools of the city. They discussed their life at school, their role models and what influences their goal setting.
