On 26th October 2010 students of class 11 visited the 108 Emergency Management Centre (GVK EMRI) at Naroda. They were given a glimpse of the inception and history of the institute. Then they were taken around and shown the facilities for training, emergency response centre and their functioning. A video film explaining how they implemented their unique concept of Sense-Reach-Care for efficient service delivery was shown. The various emergency care techniques were demonstrated with the help of mannequins. The sincerity and passion of the team and the use of modern technology is commendable. The students and teachers were thoroughly enriched by the visit.

Inter-School English Elocution Competition
Ms. Wilyben Dewan all Gujarat Inter-School English Elocution Competition’ an annual event hosted by C.N. Vidyavihar, was held on Thursday 29th October 2010 on its premises. Participants were from classes 10, 11 and 12. This year’s topic was ‘Has the present system of education failed in inculcating moral and ethical values?’ Aashini Sanjeev Sheth of class 10 participated and won the second prize in this competition.
Ad-designing contest
7 students of class 9 participated in an ad-designing contest organized by St. Kabir School on its premises on Saturday 23rd October 2010. The product had to be an imaginary one which may be a reality in future. Our team chose AIR-O-BUBBLE which will give fresh air to those suffering from the polluted environment. It will be available in 3 varieties – Swiss air, Himalayan air and Hawaiian air. The ad was accompanied by dialogues and a jingle.
Filmshow
On Saturday 27th of Nov. 2010, the ‘Research Foundation for Governance in India’ (RFGI) organised a film show and debate at AMA. There was a special screening of the Oscar-nominated move ‘Please Vote for Me’ followed by an interactive discussion for select schools of Ahmedabad. The film is about of election of a class monitor in class 3 in a primary school in China. 10 students of class 8 participated in this event. There was a discussion and debate on issues related to governance, law and politics. It was a wonderful experience for our students.
Christmas Celebration
Pre-Primary children celebrated Christmas by singing carols. A Christmas tree was decorated and put out on the lawns and the children sang and danced around the tree.
Winter Fun
Junior & senior students had fun-filled activities from 27th Dec to 30th Dec. on the lawns of the school. They played musical Chair, Passed through the ring, Passing the Ball, Balancing the Pillow etc.
On Dec 28th Nursery students visited Auda Garden. The next day the students of Junior & Senior visited Indroda Park.
On 30th Dec. a puppet show was arranged as a part of Winter Activities. Not only pre-primary children but even children up to class IV enjoyed the Puppet show.

Winter Activities
Winter activities were celebrated from December 21 to December 24 by the students of Std 9th..
Udgam organized the following days in which students participated with zest and exhibited creativity.
Salady Monday : The Girls of Standard 9th ‘A’ celebrated the Salady Monday with Salad Decoration Competition.
Fragrant Tuesday : was celebrated with flower decoration competition by the Girls of Standard 9th ‘B’.
Colourful Wednesday : A Rangoli competition for the girls of Standard 9th ‘c” was organized in this Day.
"Boys made the Christmas Tree & Santa Claus with the gifts as a part of this competition."
Yummy Thursday : Delicious Fruit salad was decorated by the girls of Standard 9th ‘D’ as a part of fruit salad decoration competition.

Visit to Memnagar Primary School
On Saturday 11th of Dec. 2010, a few students and teachers and Principal of Udgam School for Children visited Ahmedabad Jilla Panchayat Shikshan Samiti run Primary School no. 2 at Memnagar. As part of the School Unstoppable activity, they distributed compass boxes to the students. Apart from that, Udgam school presented volley ball net, volley balls, badminton rackets and shuttle cocks to the school. All these items were purchased with the money collected from students.
Kaho Whats Your Idea
‘Derek O’Brien & Associates’ conducted a competition titled ‘Kaho What’s Your Idea’ in association with ‘Idea’. 10 students from class 9 and 11 participated in the competition. Neir Gandhi of Class 11 stood 2nd in the city finals. He won a medal and certificate.
