BEST OUT OF WASTE 2013

Udgam students really know how to utilize even the things that we discard without a second thought. They have the ability of turning even the most ordinary wastes into things of value. The skills and creativity of the students were brought to the fore when they were asked to create articles out of waste. In an array of interesting, decorative and amazing articles they displayed their talent at handiwork. They made articles from used bottles, CDs, straws, plastic spoons, wood shavings and a variety of other objects. The items on display ranged from showpieces, wall hangings, lamp shades, sandals, newspaper stand to working models and all these smart items had one thing in common –they were made from materials which otherwise would have been thrown away.
Who says our students do not know the value of things? They can even make the best out of waste.

Out of the school level 11 models were selected for the Zonal round to be held in the month of January,2014.

Self Defence Training

The older concept of “Girls are Weak” has changed now, they have become powerful, confident and independent. Self defence has become a necessity for girls today.

To acquaint girls with self protection techniques against sudden and strange attacks a “Self Defence Training” session was held  for girls in the school initiated by PoliceHEART.

The girls learned different types of Self Defence Techniques in order to protect themselves from unforeseen attacks.

The session left the girls equipped completely and made them mentally strong to fight for their self esteem.

SCIENCE PROJECT on MEASUREMENTS

Students of Class 6 learnt the application of measurement in day to day life. They were given articles to measure and then led on to measure bigger dimensions in the class and school building. Initially they were asked to estimate the approximate measurement values of certain dimensions and then support their guesses by measuring for accuracy. This project which integrates Maths with Science will give them a precise idea of bigger measurements around us.

A HEALTHY FOOD OPTION

A very healthy vision greeted the eyes today. Children of Class 1 brought salads and fruits for lunch. They brought all kinds of colourful fruits and salad items and even shared with their classmates. Udgam School promotes only healthy food and discourages all kind of junk. We are trying to instil a taste for the ‘healthy’ right from  early years. Our effort is aimed at catching them young in our ‘healthy eating’ pursuit and this is in support with the parents who ensure to give what is best to their kids.
