CONSTITUTION DAY OBSERVANCE

Constitution Day, i.e Samvidhan Divas, was observed at Udgam School with feeling of pride and respect towards our Indian Constitution and its framework. As said, Indian Constitution is not just a document, it is a way of life. It is a way towards the progress of the nation, of the society and of the individual as a whole. It is a charter of the liberties & the desires. Constitution is a document on which the pyramid of the Government is structured. Supporting the same thought , our morning assembly commenced with the Indian Pledge “ We the people of India….” imbibing the feeling of Patriotism and Equality. To commemorate our constituent assembly and to remember the great work of Dr.B.R. Ambedkar, architect of the Indian constitution, Students of class X delivered speeches. Students talked about the relevance and significance of 26 November 1949, when the Indian Constitution was adopted . A poem was recited to highlight the important aspects of the Indian constitution. Students also performed a Nukkuad Natak , raising voice against racism and discrimination. A special assembly was conducted by students of Class XI to mark the day. Mr. Arindam Sarkar, guest speaker, spoke about the rights and duties of children stated in the constitution. Students also spoke enthusiastically about their duties and why it is important to abide by the rules.

COLOUR ACTIVITY IN CLASS 1

Colour …..colour…..which colour? Pink…..Red…..Green…..Purple…..Black….Orange….White……Yellow….Blue…….Each class of grade one had chosen a colour and decorated their boards accordingly, explaining the importance of each colour. Also to make the class interesting, videos and songs on colours were shown. Kids were given different pictures to colour. It doesn’t end here….kids were gathered – irrespective of their class , were asked to make colour- wise groups and have lunch together. Kids not only enjoyed eating with other kids but also made friends. Truly said – “ Sometimes all you need is a little splash of colour”. Grade one kids had a very vibrant colourful day.

WE LOVE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Udgam School has launched an anti-diabetes campaign and is trying to ‘catch them young’ by making the students aware of how to keep this dreaded disorder at bay. An interesting activity was done by students of Class 3 depicting the importance of vegetables and fruits. Students wore crowns, specifying a fruit or a vegetable and shared importance of the same. Each fruit and vegetable has its own need and value. Kids were made aware of the unhealthy foods like wafers, cakes, chocolates and packed juices.

SIMPLE MACHINES ACTIVITY IN CLASS 5

Simple Machines make work easier for us. There are six simple machines such as inclined plane, lever, pulley, screw, wedge and the wheel and axle. Complicated or compound machines are a combination of two or more simple machines working together.
Students of Class 5 did an activity on simple machines wherein they prepared the model of a simple machine of their choice. They assembled it using reusable material.
They even spoke about their model of simple machine and how these machines make our day to day activities much easier and simpler!
An exhibition of simple machines was also held where in all the students of Class IV and V came to take a look at the beautifully and amazing displayed machines which made their concepts more clear.

Grade one -Salad Making Activity

Salads form a very important part in our daily diet. To explain the same, grade one kids had ‘’salad making activity’’ with the help of their teachers today. Kids were very excited with the idea of making salad in school.

Grade one kids were shown videos to enhance the use of vegetables used in salad in form of animated movies and songs. Well, the activity took place outside the classroom giving them a different environment. All the kids relished and enjoyed their bowl of salad. Most of kids finished and asked for more, while others gave it a try.

We would also like to thank all the parents who co-operated and made the activity successful.

Overall it was an activity which had learning with FUN.
